Unlock Oswald in Disney Dreamlight Valley: A Rift in Time Expansion
Disney Dreamlight Valley fans have been delighted by the unexpected appearance of Oswald, a blast from the past. Unlocking Oswald in the game requires owning the A Rift in Time expansion and progressing through its main story. Once in Act II: The Spark of Imagination, players can accept a quest from Merlin called “The Sunken Ruins.”

Completing “The Sunken Ruins” leads to the quest “A Bit of Help From Your Friends,” which branches into three time-consuming quests for Gaston, Rapunzel, and EVE. After completing these quests and solving the Ancient Ruins puzzles, players will finally meet Oswald at the bottom of the ruins.

To progress further, players need to repair the bridge lever. They can find a loud trumpet to scare an Exclamation Point out of Oswald, which can then be placed into a slot on the right side of the area. Interacting with the lever will create a bridge.
Once on the other side of the bridge with Oswald, players can pick up a Question Mark dropped by Oswald and collect three Flying Gears in the immediate area. With these items in hand, players should clear the path ahead and use the Timebending Table to create the Question Mark Wheel.
Craft Oswald’s Home and Unlock Him Permanently
Placing the Question Mark Wheel on the machine next to Oswald will create a path to another platform. Speaking to Oswald will yield another Question Mark, and players can collect three more Flying Gears around the ruins. Returning to the Timebending Table allows players to craft another Question Mark Wheel, which can be placed on the second machine. Interacting with the lever on this platform will turn the bridge counterclockwise.

Destroying the rubble on this platform will allow players to collect Oswald’s Trumpet. Scaring Oswald with the trumpet will make him drop another Exclamation Point. Taking the trumpet back to the platform where Oswald is standing and placing it on the pedestal next to the central machine will yield another Question Mark. This Question Mark can be placed in an empty slot on the platform.

Spinning the platform two more times will position it back to its original point, where the gate is closed. Interacting with the new lever will open the path to the Spark of Imagination, triggering a cutscene. After the cutscene, Oswald will be roaming around Eternity Isle, and players can start his quest called “Oswald’s Many Dimensions.”
For this quest, players need to wear Oswald’s Fedora, a black shirt, and white pants. After returning to Oswald, players must seek out black and white flowers in their valley and give them to him. Following Oswald until he stops and can be spoken to again, players can then use a pickaxe to break the sign in front of Oswald, breaking the communication barrier.
Craft Oswaldian Pencil and Complete Oswald’s Home
Oswald will then ask players to gather Tropical Wood x15, Coal Ore x10, and Amber x1 to craft his Oswaldian Pencil. Once players have crafted the pencil, they can return to Oswald to receive the plans for drawing his home. Placing Oswald’s home wherever they like, players will realize that the house is flat and will need 3D Glasses to add depth.
To obtain the 3D Glasses, players can purchase them from Scrooge McDuck for 1,050 Star Coins. Equipping the glasses and returning to Oswald’s house, players can interact with the sign to complete the home and end the quest, ultimately making Oswald a permanent member of their valley.
